You can ask when your next trip starts, what's left to pack, whether you've packed your essentials, and whether your destination needs a plug adapter. You can also create a journey, add an item to a packing list, and check items off, entirely by voice. Every one of those actions is also an action in the Shortcuts app, so you can drop them into your own automations, and your journeys are indexed in Spotlight so searching a city name opens the trip directly.

App Intents aren't only a Siri feature. Once journeybot exposes an action to the system, it shows up across iOS without any extra work from you.
Spotlight
Journeys are indexed by name and destination. Type “Lisbon” from the Home Screen and the trip is a result you can tap straight into.
Boarding pass widget
Your next trip on the Home Screen as a boarding pass in the journey's own colour, with a countdown stub and packing progress. Siri's answer cards match it.
Action button
Assign any journeybot shortcut to the Action button — “open packing list” is the obvious one while you're actually packing.
How to set it up
Install journeybot and create a journey
The Siri commands resolve against your real trips, so there needs to be at least one. Creating it by voice counts.
Say the phrase — that's the whole setup
journeybot's commands are registered as App Shortcuts, so they work immediately. There's nothing to enable, record, or configure.
Check the Shortcuts app for the full action list
Open Shortcuts, search for journeybot, and you'll find every action — including ones without a spoken phrase, like searching journeys and days-until-departure.
Build an automation, or don't
Drag any journeybot action into a shortcut and trigger it from a Focus, an NFC tag, the Action button, or a time of day. Everything works fine without this step.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to set anything up to use Siri with journeybot?
No. journeybot registers its commands as App Shortcuts, so they work as soon as the app is installed. You don't record a phrase, build a shortcut, or grant a special permission — you just say the command with "in journeybot" at the end.
Why do I have to say "in journeybot"?
Siri needs the app name to know which app should answer. Without it, "what's left to pack" can get routed to Reminders or a web search. journeybot also registers "journey bot" as a spoken alias, so saying it as two words works too.
Can Siri add items to my packing list?
Yes. Say "add an item to my journeybot packing list" and Siri asks what to add, then puts it on your current or next trip. You can also check items off by voice, and journeybot tells you how many are left.
Does Siri work with journeybot offline?
Most of it does. Packing progress, essentials checks, adding and checking off items, plug adapter lookups, and journey details all read on-device data and need no connection. Weather-related answers need one.
Is my trip data sent to a server when I ask Siri?
No. journeybot has no server storing your travel plans — the intents read from data on your device and in your own iCloud account. There's no journeybot account to sign into.
Which journey does Siri pick if I have several trips?
Commands default to the trip you're currently on, or the next one starting. You can name a trip explicitly ("what's left to pack for Lisbon in journeybot"), and if it's still ambiguous Siri shows a list with journey names to pick from.
Can I use journeybot with Shortcuts automations?
Yes. Every journeybot action is available in the Shortcuts app, including ones with no spoken phrase such as searching journeys and getting days until departure. Actions return real values — a remaining-item count, a journey, a list of items — so you can branch on them in your own automations.
Does journeybot appear in Spotlight search?
Yes. Journeys are indexed by name and destination, so typing a city name into Spotlight from the Home Screen surfaces the trip and opens it directly.
