Lisbon Essentials for November
- Plugs: Type F (Schuko) sockets that also take Type C, at 230 V. UK and US visitors need an adapter.
- Weather: mild but changeable. Expect mid-to-high teens °C in the day, around 10 °C at night, and a decent chance of rain.
- Shoes: Lisbon is hilly and the pavements are polished stone (calçada) that gets slippery when wet. Grippy soles beat smart shoes.
- Getting to the venue: Web Summit is at MEO Arena and FIL in Parque das Nações. The red metro line runs from the airport to Oriente, right next to the venue.
- Money: euro. Cards and phone payments are accepted almost everywhere, though a few small cafés and kiosks prefer cash.
- Getting around: metro, trams and ride-hailing apps all work well. Leave extra time on day one, when the queues at the entrance are longest.
What To Skip
- Heavy laptop bags. You'll carry it all day.
- Brand-new shoes
- More than one smart outfit
- A big camera, unless you're there to film
- Printed documents. Your ticket and boarding pass live on your phone.

What is journeybot?
journeybot is a packing list app and travel planner. It builds lists like this one for every trip, adapted to your destination, the weather and your bags. It's private by design: it uses Apple's on-device AI, needs no account and works offline.
New in journeybot 2.0
- A native Mac app, alongside iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with your journeys synced through iCloud.
- Connect your AI assistant (Mac, Premium): the Mac app has a built-in MCP server, so an assistant such as Claude Desktop can view your journeys and edit your packing lists, reminders, bags and templates. It stays off until you switch it on in Settings.
- Journeys with several stops, with the whole route on one map.
- Gear: add the bags you actually own and give every item a home.
- Packing mode: one item at a time. Packed, Later or Not taking it.
- Passport: a stamp for every trip and a recap of your year.
